Horoscope
(Latin, horoscopium, Greek, horoskopion, from hora
- 'hour', and skopein - 'to view') |
The heavens are divided by great circles into twelve equal
parts, called houses. Each house is assigned a particular
virtue of influence and the heavenly body passes through
each of the twelve houses every twenty four hours.
The portion of the Zodiac in each house is the most important
and the one which is given most attention.
The position of the planets is arrived at by the distance
from the boundary circle of the house (measured on the
ecliptic).

The
ascendant is that part of the heavens rising in the east
at the moment of birth.
This is the first and most important house (the house
of life).
This contains the five degrees above the horizon and the
twenty five degrees below.
The history of Astronomy goes back to the early days of
the human race.
